Hertfordshire Family Information Service

What childcare should I choose?

How can I occupy my toddler in the holidays?

Who can I turn to when I need support and advice?

The answers to all of these questions and more are now available to Hertfordshire parents and carers through the Family Information Service website.

Previously known as the Children's Information Service, the new site offers a broader range of information, from access to health services to training for parentsFIS leaflet

who want to go back to work.  By logging onto the

FIS website or calling the information line on 01438 737 502, parents and carers can quickly get the local advice they need.

Lead Member for Children's Services, Jane Pitman, welcomed the new service:

"Hertfordshire has a huge variety of activities and services on offer to parents and carers - so finding out exactly what's relevant and local could be difficult without the Family Information Service.  This useful information source is available around the clock on the web, or you can speak to an advisor between 8.30am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday."

The Hertfordshire Children's Trust is divided into 10 districts and Greenfield is part of the Broxbourne District Children's Trust. Please click here to find out more about the Hertfordshire Children's Trust Partnership.

Every Child Matters

Greenfield also supports the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes across the whole Children's Centre.

The Government's aim is for every child, whatever their background or their circumstances, to have the support they need to:

  • Be Healthy
  • Stay Safe
  • Enjoy and Achieve
  • Make a Positive Contribution
  • Achieve Economic Well-being

Every Child Matters: the Change for Children programme aims to support parents from pregnancy onwards. The vision is to create a joined-up system of health, family support, childcare and education services so that all children get the best start possible in those vital early years.
